This year, in celebration of SG60, we will create a program for residents in Singapore, regardless they are

local, foreigner or immigrants, to:

1. Enhance Community Bonding

Encourage social interactions between residents, local or foreign through shared experiences and collaborative initiatives.

2. Promote Volunteerism:

Establish sustainable programs that engage residents in giving back to their community.

3. Foster Cultural Exchange & Understanding:

Facilitate cultural appreciation to enhance integration among people of different backgrounds.

Programme

1. Group visits to Singapore’s National Museum.

This visit offers a unique opportunity for residents to explore and appreciate the rich cultural and historical tapestry that defines Singapore.

By walking through the lived stories, traditions, and contributions of different communities, participants gain deeper insight into one another’s heritage.

Through these immersive experiences, the project deepens the sense of national pride while paving the way for a more united and compassionate society.

2. Volunteerism

From supporting food preparation and distribution with organisations like Willing Hearts, these acts of service empower individuals to make tangible differences in the lives of others.

Volunteering together also builds trust,  camaraderie, and a collective sense of purpose, creating lasting relationships across diverse community groups. It reinforces the idea that everyone has a role to play in shaping a supportive and resilient society.

3. Cultural exchange and understanding

Participants will be encouraged to share their customs, languages, art, music, and cuisines in a space of mutual respect and curiosity.

These exchanges help break down stereotypes and create opportunities to learn from one another’s lived experiences.

Through these interactions, participants discover the richness and complexity of Singapore’s cultural fabric, leading to greater empathy, open-mindedness, and a sense of shared identity.

4. Community bonding through celebration

The project will host inclusive celebration with all participants and public to come together for food, music, art and interactive activities to provide a vibrant platform for connection and collaboration.

Cross-Cultural Connections

To share stories about meaningful friendships which you have formed with others from different cultural backgrounds. Highlight the positive impact of these relationships on your perspectives and attitudes.

Community Unity

To narrate stories that showcase instances of communities coming together in Singapore, overcoming challenges, and working towards common goals such as Volunteering and helping the less privilege households and individuals in Singapore.

Cultural Celebrations

To Share stories about traditional cultural celebrations, festivals, and ceremonies that are observed in Singapore from other cultures, reflecting on and understanding the meanings they represent. Culture can be related to food, music, movies and more.

Immigrant and Foreigner Experiences

To share personal stories about their integration into Singapore, what you experience in Singapore and how home to you.
